Dear Salesloft Hiring Team,
I’m writing to express my strong interest in the Senior Manager, Customer Renewals position. After reviewing the role, speaking with a current Lofter, and immersing myself in Salesloft’s values and vision, I’m convinced this is where I belong and where I can make a lasting impact.
With over 8 years in B2B sales and SaaS, including 5 years in customer renewals. I’ve consistently delivered high-impact results while mentoring and enabling others to do the same. In my current role as a Principal Renewal Manager and Team Lead at HubSpot, I lead globally dispersed teams across NAM and LATAM, and we’ve consistently outperformed expectations, achieving 107% net revenue retention. I’ve developed and scaled renewal playbooks that increased close rates by 50% and drove a 4% uplift in gross revenue retention, totaling over $4.7M in ACV. By collaborating cross-functionally with Customer Success, Finance, and Fintech, I helped implement forecasting processes that now operate at over 95% accuracy.
Why Salesloft? First, it’s the people. Your “Team Over Self” culture is one I already live. From HEART values at HubSpot to peer-led enablement and leading without a title, I’ve thrived in collaborative, performance-driven cultures. Second, it’s the platform. I’ve been in sales for over a decade and understand the tectonic shifts revenue teams are navigating. Salesloft is uniquely positioned with its orchestration platform to lead this next era and that excites me. And third, the timing. I recently became a father, and with that milestone came reflection. I’ve exceeded my 5-year plan in just 3 years, and now I’m ready for a new challenge that sharpens my leadership, broadens my influence, and aligns with my long-term vision of building scalable, customer-first revenue teams.
Why me? Because I don’t just hit targets, I build systems, enable teams, and create momentum. I’ve led renewal teams that consistently exceed quota. I’ve improved revenue accuracy, reduced competitive churn by 10% (saving $400K), and created onboarding frameworks that helped new Renewal Managers achieve first-year milestones. I’ve used tools like Google Gemini and HubSpot AI to enhance forecasting and surface insights that turn risks into revenue. More than anything, I’m a builder. I’m not here to maintain, I’m here to elevate.
Salesloft is redefining what’s possible in revenue engagement. I’m energized by your vision and would be honored to lead and grow your renewals team. Thank you for considering my application. I would love the opportunity to contribute to your success.
With appreciation,
Timothy Castaneda

People & Culture:
As an extrovert and natural collaborator, I’ve learned that a company’s success is driven by its people and culture is what people bring to life every day. After connecting with a current Lofter and diving into employee reviews across LinkedIn and Glassdoor, I’m confident Salesloft embodies the culture I’m looking for: one rooted in action, team over self, and a glass-half-full mindset. That’s the kind of environment I thrive in where everyone pulls together and leads with heart.
Product & Platform:
With over a decade in sales, I’ve seen firsthand how the landscape is shifting. Salesloft’s platform is uniquely positioned to help teams win in this new era of revenue orchestration. From prioritization to execution, the functionality and flexibility you’ve built is world-class. As someone who geeks out over enablement and loves seeing what real end users are saying (like on Peer Insights), I’d be proud to represent a product I genuinely believe in and help more teams experience its impact.
Growth & Timing:
The Sales Enablement and Revenue Orchestration space is on track to grow by 16%+ over the next 5–10 years and Salesloft is primed to lead that charge. With your platform’s maturity and the company entering a new phase of growth, especially within renewals, this is the right moment to contribute. I see this as a rare chance to get in, build something meaningful, and help scale a revenue motion that becomes a competitive advantage.
My long-term goal (5–7 years) is to become a Director of Customer Success, leading a high-impact team that drives scalable growth and retention across a global customer base. To get there, I know I need to continue building a strong foundation in team leadership, strategic account management, and cross-functional collaboration. That’s why my immediate goal is to step into a Customer Success Manager leadership role, and my mid-term goal (3–5 years) is to move into CSM Director or Head of Success responsibilities where I can build systems, coach talent, and align Success, Sales, and Product around shared outcomes.
As I mentioned earlier, I’m genuinely geeky when it comes to product. I thrive on understanding how technology empowers go-to-market teams, and I stay on top of every product update, customer review, and industry shift. At HubSpot, I’ve loved diving into Spotlights and training sessions, even beyond what my current role requires. Today, only about 20% of my time is spent discussing product with customers but what excites me about the Salesloft opportunity is the chance to increase that dramatically. Being closer to the product and the value it delivers is a big plus for me and one of the key reasons I’m energized about this role.
I’m an extrovert who thrives in competitive, fast-paced environments because they push me beyond comfort and unlock exponential growth. While I’ve reached the highest level within my current Contract Management role, I’m intentionally seeking my next challenge to avoid complacency and continue progressing toward my long-term leadership goals. What excites me about this role at Salesloft is the opportunity to step back into a more dynamic, performance-driven environment where I can lead, compete, and experience that unmatched energy of driving renewals and securing wins that truly move the needle.
I’ve known for a long time that I wanted to build a career in B2B SaaS, where I could blend my passion for sales with my “geekiness” for technology to help customers succeed. In November, I took time to reassess my long-term goals and realized that in order to reach them, I needed to return to a more strategic, customer-facing role one that allows me to influence retention, growth, and long-term impact. Stepping into a Customer Success Manager role within a B2B SaaS organization is the clear next step, and the decision was driven by three key factors: my desire to stay close to the product, my strength in building relationships, and my long-term vision of leading customer success at scale.
